What is OSCE?
The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a standardized, performance-based assessment method primarily used in medical education. During the assessment, candidates' practical clinical skills are tested at various stations, each featuring specific tasks and scenarios. At each station, clearly defined competencies are evaluated, including clinical skills, communication abilities, and problem-solving strategies. 1.Check-in: The students check in for the exam and receive their code to log in at the OSCE stations.
2.Briefing: During the briefing, the students receive a detailed explanation of the OSCE examination process. Afterwards, they proceed to the initial station assigned to them during check-in.
3. Exam Preparation: Before entering the station, the students log in with their code and prepare for the upcoming exercise using the Clinical Vignette and/or the Self-Exam.
4.The Examination: While the students complete the exercise at the station, the examiner present evaluates them using pre-prepared assessment checklists.
5.Station Transition: After completing an exercise, the students leave the station and proceed to the next one to undertake the following exercise.
6. Evaluation: After the automated assessment, you can view detailed information about the responses to each individual question and see the percentage scores for the various competency areas.
